The renovation we are proudest of started as a small 1950s brick house on a 0.41-acre lot on Matthews-Mint Hill Road. The owners wanted a brewery and taproom. The first priority was a full restoration of the existing framing and support beams, which strengthened the structure and gave us the flexibility to open up rooms and improve the layout. Then the backyard was cleared, a new foundation was poured for the addition and the brewhouse, and the deck and patio went on. That building is Panzú Brewery today, and it is the clearest way to explain how we approach renovation: fix what holds the building up, then make it beautiful.
Most of our renovation work is residential and less dramatic than that: kitchens and bathrooms opened up on Charlotte ranches, second-story additions in Indian Trail, sunrooms and garages converted in Matthews, whole-house updates on mid-century homes in Mint Hill and Monroe. All of it runs under one design-build contract. Scope, budget and schedule are settled in pre-construction, the trades are sequenced and held accountable during construction, and the job ends with a clean site and a walkthrough.
Because we are a licensed general contractor, the structural work that renovations turn up is ours: sizing a beam to remove a wall, repairing joists a previous owner cut through, replacing sheathing behind failed siding, correcting a roof that was never flashed to an addition. Those are the items that stall a renovation when a remodeler has to stop and call someone else. They do not stall ours.

Renovation Work We Take On
Whole-house renovations
Layout changes, kitchens and baths, new systems, new finishes, and the structural and envelope repairs that come with a house of any age. Priced as one project so the budget is real before demolition.
Additions
Room additions, second stories, in-law suites and garages, tied into the existing structure and roof correctly. Permitted and inspected at each stage like a new build.
Kitchens and bathrooms
The rooms most people renovate first. We handle the plumbing and electrical relocation, the wall removals and the finish carpentry, with selections made early so nothing is ordered twice.
Building conversions and repurposing
Turning an existing structure into something new, residential or commercial. It is often faster and cheaper than ground-up construction, and the building keeps the character that made it worth saving. We wrote about why on the blog.
How a Renovation Goes
Conversation and site visit. What you want, what the house will allow, and a budget range before any design work. Pre-construction. Design coordination, itemized pricing, permit drawings where needed, a schedule. Permit. Structural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical work is permitted through the county or city with jurisdiction. Construction. Demolition, structural repairs, rough-ins, inspections, finishes, with the subcontractors sequenced by us. Post-construction. Cleanup, systems training, final inspections and a walkthrough with you.
Why Choose Us for a Renovation
- Structure first. We repair framing, foundations and the envelope before the finishes, so the finishes last.
- One contract. Design and construction together, priced while the plan is still cheap to change.
- A project you can see. The Mint Hill brewery is on our projects page, start to finish.
- Local and owner-run. Based in Indian Trail, run by the owners, in English or Spanish.
